At Essex Vehicle Charging, we’re passionate about providing cheaper, more efficient and sustainable energy solutions for our customers.

While we’ve made a name for ourselves as the leading provider of and experts in vehicle charging in Essex and the South East; we’re delighted to inform you that the time has come to expand our service offering.

“The time for smarter, greener and more cost effective homes is now!”

Our vision has always been to provide greener, more affordable and sustainable systems for the future, whether it’s in transport, in the home or at the workplace.

While the cost of living crisis looms, and energy bills increase, we feel that this is the right time to announce that we’re delivering upon our vision, and releasing a brand new product, home storage battery solutions.

So why should you choose a home storage battery solution for your home and what benefits do they have?

Choosing to add a storage battery to your home or workplace’s electricity system provides an array of benefits, not least being a great investment for the future.

To make it as simple as possible to digest, we’ve provided the key benefits below:

1. Trading energy and peak hour usage

While the energy system continues to innovate, equipped with the right system, you can now act as your own energy plant towards the grid, trading energy back and forth.

Electricity providers request energy from solar batteries because it leads to benefits and effects on the grid by reducing the peak demand, and minimising wholesale energy price spikes.

Finally, because of the energy stored in your battery, you charge your vehicles and appliances and use electricity at cheaper night time rates, than the everyday grid reliant home.

The benefit to you as the customer is ten fold, and the return on your investment not only sets you up for cost effective and greener energy solutions for the future, but reduces your outgoings in the immediate present.

2. Greener living: reduce your carbon footprint

Storing energy in your battery allows you to buy less energy from the grid, as a home would without a storage battery. Every little saving of energy helps, and this ultimately lessens your carbon footprint.

3. Reduce the cost of living and your energy bill

Home batteries can significantly reduce your electricity bill and cost of living. This is due to the battery saving and storing the energy you produce, and it will reduce your bill due to having to buy less energy off the grid.

One of the major factors is that you bypass energy price shifts where your provider will make electricity more expensive during peak hours. With the home battery storage solutions we provide, you will seldom have to worry about an increase to these electricity prices.

4. Keeping an eye on the future

Like driving a Tesla, having a home storage battery is an immediate greener and cost effective energy solution, which maintains an eye on the future.

Just as Tesla’s are built with autonomous driving upgrades, ready for when autonomous driving is legalised, home battery storage units are the best friend of solar panels and electric vehicle chargers, ready for when you install these.

If you have an EV charger or solar panels already installed, home batteries align with these systems to save more energy, and ultimately, generate energy from the sun. This makes your home less dependent on the grid and reduces your costs significantly.

5. Optional blackout protection, battery backup

If needed, our home storage batteries can protect your home from any potential blackouts that may happen. If your energy grid experiences an outage, then your battery will be able to take over and power your home while the grid is offline.

If you have a medical need for a constant electricity supply, or you work from home, this becomes extremely important to lessen the chance of disruption to your everyday life.

If your house is situated in an area prone (rural) to blackouts or extreme weather events where damage to the grid and power lines can cause your neighbourhood to be out of power for hours or days.

Our home batteries drastically decrease the chance of blackouts in your home.

The amount of energy you store in your battery, pertaining to how long your home can be powered for by your battery is totally dependent on the size and product. This is where we can add our expert guidance and advice.

Although the UK April car sales were massively impacted by COVID 19 we can draw a degree of cautious optimism from the statistics. SMMT vehicle data show that car registrations were down by 97.3% compared to April 2019, however the BEV (Battery EV) cars only reduced by 9.7% meaning that Battery EV’s outperformed the sales of Diesel vehicles. In total the share of all plug in sales (Battery and Plug In Hybrid) show a combined market share of 34.0% which was well ahead of Diesel sales at 25.0% and narrowly behind Petrol at 35.9%. Quite a milestone for the EV market. Source SMMT vehicle data:
